(More customer reviews)this portable DVD/media player gets the job done. Battery lasts just over 2.5 hours when watching a DVD, and lasts over 4 hours when playing from USB or a SDHC memory card. Movies encoded as mpeg4/mp3 audio played back fine.
That said, there are a few caveats:
The on screen menu system is a bit incomprehensible.
The manual was definitely not written by someone with a fluent understanding of English.
The screen rotates around, but the picture orientation doesn't change automatically.
Without the included remote control, many DVD menu options aren't acccessible.
On the plus side, since I couldn't find in the manual how to encode movies for playback on the device, I emailed the warranty contact provided in packaging and quickly received a well-written response with details on what media codecs the device supported. With a 16GB SDHC card I could entertain my 3 year old for all but the longest domestic flights.
