(More customer reviews)I got mine today and started feeding it's hunger immediately.After approximately 30 DVD's/CD's the unit shut down with a disc right in the middle.At first I thought it was a jam, but after reading the instructions I figured it had overheated due to use.The instructions said to unplug for 15 minutes and then fire it back up.Sure enough, it fired back up after about 10 minutes (I couldn't wait) and it finished shredding the DVD.
Slide in a DVD/CD on one side, out comes 4 strips from the other. It stops prior to shoving them all the way out, but if you insert another it will push the old one off of the unit.So if you line it up over a counter and have a trash can under it, you have non-stop shredding for about 2 minutes (40 discs) before it needs a break.
I have no doubt my information on the shredded discs is unrecoverable.
