I don't know much about video formats like the previous reviewer, but I hooked up my portable Hard Drive with copies of my DVDs on it and in minutes I had my own movie theater! I can scan through a folder of all of my movies and watch anything I want. No more sorting through boxes to find a movie! And best of all, I only had to connect 2 cables. It was also easy to take my thumb drive full of photos and create a slide show on the big screen TV. Totally worth the $100.
