(More customer reviews)What a great DVD! Having beautiful unique papers to do collage with does not have to be costly. Carrie shows you how to create your own custom papers using affordable art tissue paper that are not only intriguing to look at but also colorfast. I had been considering this DVD for some time and am so glad I bought it. The majority of the DVD is about paint tinting and stamping the papers you make, some of them use everyday materials to get texture...like coffee grounds and string. Carrie's instructions are clear cut and inspiring, she gives good details on the how and why of the materials she uses, and the demos she does are wonderful. She also covers store bought papers in some detail, covering both the pros and cons of them. Best of all she explains the variables in making your own art papers using paint, gesso, stamps you make yourself and gel mediums so you can expand your outcome. Personally I could see some of the things in this video working on fabric as well as paper. If you do collage or multimedia art, this DVD would be an asset in your library to refer to for expanding your materials in new ways. I could also see it offering new options to scrap bookers who have an interest in creating their own papers to scrapbook with. Carrie has packed a ton of info into these 2 hours... this DVD is truly worth every penny.
