If you want to waste your money by all means purchase this laptop, but you may want to browse the Dell studio support blogs on their website (which is what I should have done prior to the purchase). I bought this as a means of doing some internet browsing and not being strapped to a desk in my house. (WIFI)
Aside from the intolerable overheating problems cause of the retard placement of the vents and the flat battery to restrict airflow. I have to place my laptop directly in front of a fan (on high) and constantly elevated so it doesn't over heat and knock out.
After 3mths of owning my BRAND spanking new Studio Direct from DELL. I booted up one day only to be greeted with a warning stating that my battery needs replacing (?!) I'll let you do the search on the dell website for the price of a replacement battery (Heart patients beware).
I love playing cds and burning dvds on my Dell Studio 1535, my only problem is it doesn't quite feel the same. I have the notorious ejecting issue that is plaguing many users of this model. It is so retarded that it will at times repeatedly try to eject a non-existent cd. I have had my burning sessions end prematurely due to this which costs quite some DVDr's...
Of recent the adapter tripped and now I have to purchase a new one from Amazon. But I am determined to ride this horrible roller-coaster out to the end and stretch this laptop til it can't go any longer.
Why the 1 Star you ask? Well what it lacks in Everything it apparently makes up for in durability as the a while back it fell from a couch (thru no fault of my own) onto a Tile floor- I swore that was it the end! But I pressed the power button and surely it booted up and kept on running like any nightmare electronic would...
So, if even after all of this you still want to spend your hard earned bucks on this, then by all means go right on ahead. I wash my hands of this company and any of it's products
I have never bothered to contact the Dell Support after reading the online blogs. I can't believe that this is a Dell product as the first pc i've owned was a Dell and it ran great for NINE yrs!
I really like the design tho and it would've been a good laptop if it wasn't such a pain in the bubbles.
